Guinness World Record Attempt to Swansea Smurfs

Company based in Newbury costumes, Jokers' Masquerade have collaborated with students from the University of Swansea break the Guinness World Record for the largest reunion people dressed as Smurfs. Oceana Swansea club is infested with blue students June 8.

The current record is with the people Castlecarney, Co.Monaghan, which achieved together Muckno Schtroumpfs Mania Festival 1253 in July 2008. Jokers' Masquerade 3000, providing apparel for the students of Swansea free of charge to ensure that all to participate in the event. To qualify as a real Smurf a person must have applied the blue paint has produced no evidence of skin. Also part of the aid of costumes will be a blue top, white, blue, white bonnet and pointed ears. Smurfette costumes are also available for girls.

To ensure costumes giant success for the record books, a Guinness World Record judge will be present on the part of any official. The record was broken 5 times in the past 18 months with the Universities of Bath, Southampton, Portsmouth and Chester have had a crack at the record in the past, but with wild cards' of Swansea Masquerade have all the support they need to be in the record books in the coming years.

Smurfs were seen in 1958 in a comic book entitled "Le Journal de Spirou." Pierre Culliford – better known as Peyo, introduced as one of the bands observed success. Now the Smurfs are global and can be seen on television, on DVD, in books and listening to CDs. A wide range of Smurf figures and toys are also available. Peyo sadly died at Christmas in 1992.
